Jazz and Creativity: The Jazz Experience with Live Jazz Band

During the jazz experience, participants are placed in a circle around a dynamic musical team: the jazz band.

The band begins by playing a familiar jazz standard, giving participants an opportunity to listen and observe how jazz musicians improvise within clearly defined structures, take risks, embrace change, value diversity, rotate leadership and build on each other’s ideas in performance.

Using a series of carefully crafted exercises during which several participants will have the opportunity to play or ‘sit-in’ with the band, Dominic Alldis then leads an interactive discussion about how the world of jazz mirrors the fast-moving turbulence of today's corporate climate, and how the creative flexibility of jazz musicians provides an excellent model for today's business leaders.

The jazz experience can also include an interactive percussion workshop.
